Haitian Youth Music Relief
born symphony conductor, Dr. Jean Montes, the Director of Orchestral
Studies at Loyola University New Orleans, devotes a considerable amount
of his time to developing young musicians. He is the Artistic Directors
of the Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestras and leads musical programs
for youth development in cities all over the world. Every summer he
returns home to Haiti to work with children who rely on music as an
outlet. Now, more than ever, they need the comfort and emotional outlet
that musical expression provides. Most of their instruments and supplies
were lost in the recent tragedies in Haiti. Dr. Montes invites you to
make a difference in their lives. It is his goal to provide each of
these young Haitian musicians with a replacement instrument (check your
attics, basements and closets), supplies and music to heal their hearts
and give them a sense of hope for the future.
You are invited to donate items listed below or make a monetary contribution toward the purchase of these items. All instruments and supplies will be personally delivered by Dr. Montes to the youth musicians of Haiti.
